Hey, I'm Liza! (pronounced LEE-zah). I'm an NY based amateur seamstress and cosplayer who loves finding any excuse to dress up. I have been sewing ever since I got my first sewing machine back in 2010, and am completely self taught. I learned through many books, videos, and most importantly other sewing bloggers/YouTubers/amazing people around the web.
Ever since I was a little girl, like most little girls, I really wanted to be a pretty princess. While actually becoming a princess has proven a bit challenging in today's modern world, growing up I discovered the wonderful world of historical sewing. This was a world which actually let me feel like the princess I always wanted to be, if only for one evening!
Over the years, I have transitioned from simply wanting to create big, pouffy dresses, to actually trying to research and understand the details of why and how our ancestors dressed the way they did. The clothing we wear every day is a reflection of what our day to day life is like, and I am fascinated with trying to understand what life was like for out predecessors through the clothing that they wore.
I have at the same time also discovered the amazing world of Cosplay, which not only involves sewing, but also leather crafting, sculpting, wig styling, and countless other skills that I am now eagerly learning.
I hope you enjoy looking at my work, and please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!
